Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1951 Ford F-1 recalls can be found in this database. History of the 1951 Ford F1 Truck: Ford F-Series trucks came about in 1948, rebranding themselves with new chassis' specific to the pickup truck lineup. The F1, as seen here, would represent the ½-Ton chassis, F2 for ¾-Ton, leaving the F3 and up for heavy-duty applications. Throughout each available model both six and eight-cylinder engine options remained available, each packed with the highly faithful Flathead technology. This F-Series redesign also included updates to the truck bodies, with a one-piece windshield and headlights integrated just outside of the horizontal grillwork. By 1951, some further changes included a larger rear window for better visibility, headlights now positioned further out and into the fenders, and a modernized grill with a more aerodynamic appearance. The later models also gained a wood bed with an improved tailgate.
